Club Information
"During the years of its existence, the Club has known the peace and progress of the formative years, wars and rumors of wars, the booming 20s and sagging 30s, the severe restrictions of the Second World War, and the throbbing upsurge thereafter. Although on occasions it has been agitated by differences of opinion, it has always had in its membership sound and constructive leaders to show what could and should be done to go forward. Periodic physical changes in the interior, the result of changing tastes, may have caused heartaches; none has actually done harm. The founders and their immediate successors, returning to "the corner of Benefit and Waterman Streets," and looking at what was "an old square, brick building in poor condition," would be happy to admit after a full survey of the bright and attractive interior and the well-kept exterior, flower beds and all, that young men (the founders were young in 1899) still dream dreams, and make them come true."
